The project

CreativeScapes is a project taking place at the University of Southampton, supported by the Creative Campus Initiative. It is designed to involve students, architects, artists, designers, academics and other users in thinking imaginatively about the Highfield campus. This would focus on the concept of a new Creativescape (a building, a space and new landscape) taking the place of Building 38, the centre of Highfield Campus. This new Creativescape and its surroundings will be designed and imaged as a new hub for interaction, knowledge sharing and creativity within the campus.

If you can, we would like you to attend one of the Vision Workshops on 9th or 10th June, but it is not necessary to do so. It is open to all Highfield Campus users, eg students, academics and other University staff

10th June or 11th June 2010 – Creativescapes Vision Workshop (9.30am – 4.00pm)
The Creativeescapes Vision workshop will involve a day of creative thinking and activity based on the materials and ideas collected during the Spaceshaper Event. Each workshop will involve 15-20 attendees, working alongside artists, architects and designers. If you plan to attend one of these workshops, we suggest that you attend the Spaceshaper event on 9th June, a good starting point to get you thinking about campus space and creativity.

Attendance is free, but spaces are limited, so if after registering your circumstances change and you cannot attend anymore, please let us know so we can involve someone else.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided to all attendees.

Take part to our Creative Workshops

The project revolves around three creative workshops. These workshops will include creative practitioners (designers, artists, architects etc.) as well as students, academics and other users of the Highfield campus.

The proposals, visions and ideas emerging from the workshops should provide an innovative and creative challenge to the current uses of the space within the campus, suggesting alternative visions and solutions.
